Do I need to install any driver for my PC to detect my 4GB microSDHC card? Also, when the card is in my N95, it can be detected. Then after I plug the data cable into my N95, if I select "PC Suite", the PC also can detect. But if i select "Data transfer", my PC won't be able to detect it.

HOWTO: Connect your MobyMemory MMC card via reader to PC

This guide will explain how to connect your MobyMemory card to your PC via your memory card reader. We will assume you are connecting to a Windows PC (XP, 2000, or later). Older operating systems will require the card reader drivers to be installed first.

There are 2 approaches to connecting your card to the PC:

Automatic approach :

Put your MobyMemory MMC into your card reader carefully and connect the card reader to the USB port of your PC. Windows should automatically open Windows Explorer window, when it notices a new drive device has been connected (your Windows may not be configured to automatically open Explorer. If this is the case, skip to Option 2).

Now you can start working with your MMC card just like it was any other drive on your PC, with copy and paste commands, and drag-and-drop mouse actions. Remember the drive letter used for the MMC device (in this case – I: drive) as this is useful when it comes to navigating back to the drive (the 7-in-1 and 12-in-1 readers create a number of [Removable Drive] icons when connected, but only one of them is your MMC.)

Manual approach:

Second approach is a bit more controlled and user driven.

Right-click on your mouse whilst hovering over the START menu in bottom-left. This will prompt the following menu to appear:

Chose the [Explore] option and [Windows Explorer] will open up.

Now connect your memory card reader to a spare USB port on your PC. A series of new [Removable Drive] icons should appear to represent the different memory types that can be used with your reader. Now insert the MMC card into the reader in the MMC slot. The card will now be accessible for the standard file operations with copy and paste commands, and drag-and-drop mouse actions.

Safely remove hardware.

Before disconnecting your memory card or your memory card reader, ALWAYS follow these steps.

Use the ‘safely remove hardware’ feature built into Windows. You can find it on bottom-right of your desktop in the Taskbar: it is the green arrow pointing left over a device.

Double click on the icon and the Safely Remove Hardware window will open up:

Click on STOP, but if you have more than one hardware connected make sure you choose the correct USB device to stop.

Now you can disconnect disconnect the reader from the PC, and remove your MMC card from the reader.

Some girls was looking at my phone (V1605) and popped out my 2Gb microSD card (SanDisk). Now, my TomTom does not find the map and when I deleted all files on the card (using the phone and activesync to doublecheck) the phone shows only 891Mb free and over 1Gb used.

How can I free the card up again???? I do NOT have a card reader on my computer so it has to be either via USB to the phone or with the phone interface.

help me guys! i got this phone with 1G miini SD on it, at first, of course it has no files on it. but while i was transferring songs from the PC, it says "low memory.". i removed all the songs that i put on it and checked on its memory settings. the memory in use was 800+ MB which i deleted all files saved on the memory, so i was expecting that it will still have a 1G vacant on its memory.

i tried to format it using a card adaptor and card reader but nothing has changed.

what should i do??

I have a Cect P810 Mobile from China and have a problem with the phone seeing a new memory card i put in.

The phone came with a 128b card that the phone see's but when i put a 512mb card in it does not see it but when i plug the phone into the USB port it see's it.

I have FAT formatted the card through the USB port and the phone still does not see it also i have FAT formatted it on the PC but still the same problem.

I have tried bigger and smaller cards but it still does not see it.

Is there something on the phone i need to do as well?

I bought a mini SD (Sandisk) card from you a week ago. All was looking good when I put the mini SD card into my PC SD card slot and started copying files onto it. However it will only allow me to copy 619MB before i get this message "Error copying file or folder - cannot copy the file as the directory or file cannot be created".

Have you sold me a dud memory card or am I being an IT incompetent?

By the way - I have emailed your "support" email address and left messages on your support number and have not heard a dickie bird for a week - not very impressive.

I read on another forum that somebody bought a similar card from mobys and working in HTC P3600, therefore I ordered mine but . Card is working fine in reader on a computer but not been recognised in the PDA.

Can anyone help? or do I need to go back to 2GB.

hi ive got an o2 ice phone and i have recently bought a 1gb kingston microsd memory card to put more songs on my phone. i put some songs on there and it worked fine... until my phone turned off and now my phone cant detect the memory card on the file manager computer software and it says that theres no memory on the card! ive also bought a card reader and it has detected the memory card and all the music files and it works fine. does anybody know whats going on?!?! and what can i do ? ive inserted and removed the card from the phone several times and it still doesnt work. its doing my head in!!! MMC - MultimediaCard and SD - SecureDigital are two alternative memory card standards.

Whilst they are closely related, they are distinct standards in their own right and managed by separate corporations and associations.

MMC cards are compatible with both MMC slot devices AND SD slot devices. (e.g. Nokia, Siemens, Samsung, Sharp, Motorola phones and SD slot cameras))

SD cards are only compatible with SD slot devices. (which excludes Nokia and Siemens phones and other MMC devices)

This makes a like-for-like comparison between MMC and SD fairly straightforward, as one standard has a much wider range of devices with which it is compatible.

However, it is not quite that simple because SD cards do have some additional functions in the hardware specification, including a write-lock toggle, and some wiring for enabling digital rights management on the card.

hi all im new here as i just stumbled across mobymemory whilst trying to fix a problem with my nokia 6288 i just received a 4gb mini-sd card off ebay and plugged it into my phone and i wont detect any idea's on what to do i noticed that moby has 4gb cards for sale is there any way to get this one working as i'm going away and need music, even if i can get it to work reliably for like 2 days then buy one from this site its a no name and when i go to settings the cards not there anyone know of a firmware update i can do to the phone???

I have purchased the 4GB MiniSD card, and have had problems using it in my Orange C600. Obviously I should have checked the forums here first as it seems others have had issues as well.

Initially I just copied my old storage card contents onto it using the reader I purchased with it. My phone started up, and in Smart Explorer it showed the card, but couldn't show the contents of it. The phone then locked up.

I also tried partitioning the card as two 2GB partitions. Still my phone can't access the card.

Has anyone managed to get this card to work in a C600 or imate SP5? If so how exactly did you do it?

Given the problem reported I really don't think this should be sold as being compatible with this model of phone as it clearly isn't.

I coulda sworn when I bought it, it said Nokia compatible. I have tried it in my N73 (when formatted as both FAT32 and FAT) but the phone says that it is corrupt.
The card is fully functional on WinXp via an SD Card reader.

I am really hoping there is a fix! I somehow doubt it, reading around google it seems there are two versions of SD Cards something to do with SHCH or something?

Well I bought this for my gf not so long ago, and she got a mini sd card off the net for it. Its a 1GB storage one. Now the card definitely works, but sometimes it likes to play little tricks by saying "memory card not in use" or "memory card invalid" something along them lines.

When she got the memory card, she just put it in like you would usually do, but is their anything your meant to do? Not really sure, only new to this phone.

I have a mobymemory 4 gb minisd card for my HTC P3600 when i try to copy something to it using activesync it tells me that i dont have enough memory when i know that i do. If i put it in a card reader i can copy the files to the card but when i put the card back in the phone i cannot see the files i copied to it enven though i know they are there.

Is this card compatable with the HTC3600? is so what can i do

I have a 150X 4GB OEM SAMSUNG SECURE DIGITAL SD CARD that I bought on ebay, it came with a usb2 reader similar to the blue one that mobymemory sells, and it is the only thing that I have which will read the damn memory card, I have a brand new o2 XDA Exec and the 4gb card doesn't work in it, does anyone have any clues as to why it won't recognise it?

My 4GB MiniSD (mobymemory) card just arrived last week, thanks to sales dept. for the quick delivery.

Unfortunately, I am having huge problems with this card in my QTEK 8310 smartphone. My QTEK 8310 crashes/hangs a lot. Like several times a day especially when using applications rather then the phone functions. Pretty sure it is related to the miniSD card, since when I put in my 1GB or 2GB (both from mobymemory too) it doesn't have any problems at all.

I formatted my 4GB MiniSD 3 times (FAT32), even once using a specialized format tool other then the standard format in XP. No errors during formating of the card. Also I can write large files to it without problems (copied 1.5 GB at once, with no real problems when doing it from a card reader).

I also upgraded to the latest QTEK rom (my latest attempt last christmas night), but not helping either. In 5 minutes i had my first hang/crash again.

Sometimes after rebooting my smartphone, my storage card is completely missing. I have to open my smartphone, remove battery and place it back, and startup again. In most cases the storage card is visible again.

Also installing applications is like an impossibility; it for sure let my phone hangs during install. Sometimes it takes >10 retries (small applications of say 1-2MB) to get an application installed. The largest application so far installed was a 5MB application (after many retries), however the 6.5 skype application failed over and over again. Internal memory is not the issue, when i select install to storage card it crashes for sure.

I checked miniSD card on errors; twice I had no problems, the last and third time it found 3472 problems/corruptions (at least so many .chk files are in found.000 directory). Hard to be true.

I am at a point that I am clearly doubting about the compatibility with my QTEK 8310 smartphone, or is the card really faulty?!

What can I do?

4 mini SD Card problems

Recently I bought a 4 gb mini sd card from Mobymemory (as I allways do for all my flash cards). I've an Ipaq Rw6815.

Time to time I'm getting some issues with this card. I think that is linked with the synchronisation procedure with my desktop. Sometimes, after a synchronisation, and after I pull out the synchronisation cable, the card gets some problems and the device works very slowly and some times freezes.

So I need to do a format and re-install all the files witch gets a lot of time.

I read in another forum that there aren't really 4 gb mini sd card (without HC specifications). That the 4 gb mini sd cards on the market are really 2 gb card with a 'hack' procedure in is file system. This could explain the problems that I'm getting.

Had you heard something about this? This is true for the Mobymemory 4 gb mini sd cards?

Hello,

I received a 2gb micro-SD card for a Motorola SLVR from you on Friday 22nd Sep. Unfortunately the memory card will not format when I insert it into the phone.

I have inserted the memory card with the Trans-flash adaptor into a
PC with the correct drive however the status of the memory card was
'locked'. There appears to be no way of unlocking the card on the adaptor.

Is this a faulty card? Am I missing something simple? or is there a compatibility issue?

It is listed in compatibility list on your site. I just bought one and it came in FAT32 format which is not supported by 910i (says 'Disk corrupt'). If try to format on phone it hangs... I re-formatted it as FAT on PC, and it works somehow, but built-in File Manager says that it has NO NAME (although it has), and free space is -193MB (if empty), and (-193+N)MB if N MB copied to it... Any ideas?

I own a Nokia 7610 and recently upgraded my 512MB RS MMC Card with a 1GB RS MMC Card.

I managed to move the images, music, video, calender and text data through the cable backup from one card to the other.

However, I am unable to transfer the games, themes and applications (several good ones I've bought on the net like Photospin) amounting to 40MB from my 512MB card to the 1GB RS MMC card. I think the cable is not fast enough. My brother bought a bluetooth but that doesn't seem to work either.

How can I transfer these games, themes and applications?
