| | | Nokia phone switches on fine when it has no additional memory card in the slot, and also when original TomTom 128MB installed. But with 512MB card the phone won't switch on - it gets to Nokia logo and runs battery down. I can get it to continue by taking the mem card out Card checks out fine on the PC, and when in phone after phone is up and running (photos, WMA/MP3 tracks andd TomTom). Any brilliant ideas? I've just had the handset replaced - no difference! Card is PNY DV-RS-MMC if I didn't buy from you I should have & will buy 1GB or 2GB to replace

| Posted 7/23/2007 11:31 PM | | | Today i was using my Nokia N95 on low battery when I suddenly realised I was unable to access the new SMS function. So I figured it had something to do with the low bat, upon fully charging the device I tried once again to send an SMS, to no avail no SMS function was available! After this I had the bright idea of switching off my N95, bad idea! Next after some grace period I tried to switch my phone back on! The best I could muster was a white screen with the word "NOKIA"! I tried various combinations of switching on the phone with/out charger, USB-PC cable, also removing and replacing the battery. nope!
Now you may wonder what this has to do with your forum post, well after getting a bit frustrated I went googling and found your post. After reading about your ingenious experiment regarding the removal of the memory card, I tired it with my phone. Well after removing the memory card the phone switched on as normal, weird!
I have no idea how to explain this one?
What is your memory card make? Mine is a Kingston 1GB Micro SD, maybe make related?
Also I have no idea what a PNY DV-RS-MMC is? but once again from my googling, lol, I think a PNY DV-RS-MMC is a Kingston Card?

ps. your post made me get a mobymemory account
