Program: Nokia Music Manager 6.81
Phone: Nokia 6230i
Memory Card: 512 MMC+

No problems getting (so far) 110 tracks on the card, but when using the phone view I can only see about 50 of them. I can see all the playlists I have created, but cannot see many of the tracks I want to add to them. Anybody know why this is and how it can be corrected?

This HOW TO Guide on making playlists with Nokia Audio Manager for the Nokia 6230 covers some of this ground also for the Nokia 6230i, and hopefully will help you associate your tracks to playlists successfully.

The Nokia PC Suite has changed quite a bit since this was written, but it should put you on right lines.

Don't forget to use sub-folders to store the music tracks on your memory card, where possible, to avoid overloading the root folder of FAT file system.

Yours sincerely,

Thanks for your reply, but I'm afraid it did not help as I had already seen it. The problem seems to be due to the fact that, before I started loading music onto the card I had created 3 directories: 'music', 'video' and 'photos'. When using music manager to upload music it sometimes loads it into the 'music' folder and, when using the 'phone view', it only lets you see the contents of the 'music' directory. Other times it loads the music into the 'root' directory and, if it does, you cannot see the music in the 'phone view'. The problem is solved by going into the file manager and moving the music in the root directory into the 'music' sub-directory; if you do that the tracks become visible in Music Manager and can then become available for inclusion in playlists.

What I haven't worked out yet is why it loads some music to the 'root' and some to the 'music'directory.

I should add that NMM, when it uploads music, creates subdirectories in the form Artist>Album>track, so my card has no 'loose' files in root.
